I noticed you asked before about weapon mods that leave enemies alone, well I'm going to list my go-to combination for any vanilla Doom playing or for use with mods or WADs that are only maps and graphics (no custom enemies or weapons).
I also strongly support and recommend NC HUD. If that sound continues in a way like the Halo shield where it warns with continuous sound without stopping, you should check that the mods to be used are not interfering with the score code or Arcade mode. Sound ?, the hud does not add a beep sound more than the combos for the score, you kill an enemy and the sound indicates a combo of 2-32. The HUD has been tested with most recent releases of GZDoom & ZDoom, but it should also work with most recent development versions of Zandronum.
